Ethical sunscreen for ski trip

My precious firstborn is off skiing and needs suitable sunscreen/block for face and lips - the sort that a teenage boy will actually use.
Any recommendations? Supermarket own brand is fine if 'cruelty-free'

Ones I have seen recommended in Ethical Consumer magazine in the past are made by Green People and Dr Hauschka. Might be worth a look on ethicalsuperstore website to see what they have.0

All cosmetics (and sunscreens come under that term) are now not tested on animals.
Having said that, every cosmetic ingredient has, in the past, been tested on animals.0 -
My understanding is that this is not yet true - and I'd prefer to support those companies which do more than comply with the law anyway.0

I'm also a bit dubious about that. Can you provide any links to pages which will confirm your assertion?
Remember also that there is a difference between testing the ingredients on animals and testing the final product - often a distinction which is blurred when companies make statements about their animal testing policies."The trouble with quotations on the Internet is that you never know whether they are genuine" - Charles Dickens0 -
What do you mean by tested on animals anyway.
If someone smeared some zinc oxide on a rabbit in 1940, does that mean you can never use that chemical in a product?0 -
Last time I needed sunscreen I concluded that Neal's Yard was the way to go, IIRC it was the only one without nano-particles. I did do a lot of reading on the topic at the time...dirtmother wrote: »suitable sunscreen/block for face and lips0 -
I've tried Dr Hauschka, Lavera and Green People and my fave is Green People as I like the texture and the result.
Green People even do a teenage face one, which I use even though I am far from being a teenager!!! but it suits my facial skin as it's not greasy.0
