Designer dresses online from China

Apologies for starting a new thread if one already exists on this topic! I did a search but couldn't find what I needed! I've fallen in love with an Alfred Angelo dress but it sort of breaks the bank a little bit... However I've found a few websites that will make it for a fraction of the price in China. Has anyone used any of these sites and what was the quality like? Could you recommend Amy specific sites? Any tips or warnings?

Thanks!

I ordered an Alfred Angelo copy from a seller on Ebay from Hong Kong. I didn’t realise at the time it was an Alfred Angelo dress. It is a lovely, well made dress and I am pleased with my buy (especially for the price) but it is based on the dress rather than an exact copy. The original dress I liked has crystals on the bodice and the replica has pearls and sequins instead. As I said I am personally happy with the dress (and those who have seen it thought it cost a lot more than I paid) but I would (if we had the money and I didn’t already have said dress) have prefered the actual dress.

What dress is it? We may be able to track down the actual dress for a good price? There are VERY mixed reviews about dresses from China.

Light in the box have rave reviews, I've ordered from them before and it's fantastic and I plan on buying my wedding dress from them!

I took a punt and ordered my dress from China (not LITB though) and my gamble paid off luckily. I was however prepared to lose the 100 pound it cost me if it was awful or did not turn up.

If you can afford to take that risk then go for it, if the dress cannot be found for you any cheaper.

Also, bear in mind that you will probably have to pay import taxes which is not factored into the selling price and remains your responsibility. The seller will state the value as being negligable to try to avoid the tax but Customs are not stupid and will either contact you to ask for it's value (and proof of this) or value it themselves and then charge you accordingly. I paid 30 pound so again, not a huge amount but if the dress had been awful I still would have been out of pocket.

I bought my dress from light in the box too.

Now i needed it custom made, so followed all their instructions and off we went with that.

Couldn't fault the tracking or time scale, Please please please remember that you pay duty when it comes into this country, so many people dont realise this and then come to mse to complain.

the dress was lovely, but big, too big but fortunately my bridesmaid is a dressmaker so she will be making the alterations.

the dress you can tell was not made with love, but again my bm will be doing the finishing touches.

would i buy from them again yes.
although wouldn't try an ebay seller from china, don't think i can trust them
