notification of a visit - job seeker's claim

hi all, new memeber here, today i received a letter through the post informing me that the job centre are sending a 'customer complicance officer' to see me on thirsday as 'a query has arisen about my claim'?
here's my circumstances, i dropped out of university last may (didn't pass my exams and hated the course etc, etc). between may and septemeber i tried and failed to get a job, so i started to claim jobseeker's as i was job seeking. i am 20 (21 next month), single, have no kids and live with my parents.
all has been going fine (apart from the fact that i still can't find employment) and am therefore still claiming. however, this morning this letter arrives from the job centre? anyone ever had any experience with these sort of interviews? i doubt very much that i have neen 'reported' as literally nobody other than my parents know i am claiming, not even the rest of my family. the only other thing i can think of is that a couple of weeks ago i applied for university again through ucas for the coming academnic year. as this still leaves me free (and willing) to work till septemeber however i don't see the problem, and how would the job centre know i had applied in any case?
anyway, sorry it's a bit long, but any advice would be appreciated. thank you.

Ah, see you have changed your post, if you have done nothing wrong you have nothing to fear, sometimes they just do random checksBlackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

could they know that i have applied for university? would that even be a problem? i'm not too worried because i know i've done nothing wrong, but i really am baffled that they are sending someone round to check my claim...0 -
The only thing I can think of is some issue with student finance, grants overlapping the claim and affecting entitlement, not an expert in this field, what ever it is I am sure if you are genuine and you do sound genuine, the compliance officer will be fair and sympathetic and get things sorted out. I have always found compliance visitors very pleasant and helpful. Have all relevant paperwork ready for the visit.Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

ok, thanks. i'll try not worry about it too much, just the way the letter is worded that makes it appear so serious that has caused me concern really. i haven't had any payment from student finance since last may, but i will sort all the other paperwork out in preperation.0 -
I agree with Blackpool Saver, the only thing I could think of could be related to grants / loans? Did you get any that run for the whole academic year (even after you dropped out)?0

no. i hd to take a letter from student finance to my inital job seekers interview before they would even process my claim which showed i wasn't still receiving any paymnets from student finance, so i'd be surprised if it was to do with that actually. could be wrong though.0 -
i don't think you have anything to worry about then, as others said, most likely just a random check0
