Numerical Reasoning Tests

Hey,
I am applying for graduate jobs and I have been sent a numerical test to do online.
The only problem is I am awful at maths! I may have got a B at GCSE and done numerical analysis as part of my degree (I did psychology) but I have completely forgotten the basics!
Does anyone know of a website I can go to to help me brush up on my skills?

BBC GCSE Bitesize is quite good. They have a section for maths and that then divides up in little sections on each areas of maths (algebra etc) - they also have little examples and exercises you can do.
Good luck with the test!:hello:CC1: £103.62; CC2: [STRIKE]£927.00[/STRIKE] £916.55; CC3: £2786.96; CC4: £414.34

As you are a graduate, can you go back to your old university and ask them if they have an online test for you to try (you might not be as bad as you think)? Most universities sign up to psychometric testing these days as they play such a big part in graduate recruitment. Also you can usually use your Careers Service after graduation, after all. that is when you are likely to need it.
If not, then you can try SHL or the civil service faststream for their online practice tests.
If you find you are really as bad as you think you are then you can work to improve this. There are loads of quite cheap practice books (try Amazon) which should help you. (Andrea Shavick is the main author to look for)
There are also improve your numeracy books or online courses that might help. Might need to do some seaching to find them but again your old university might have good links for these. There are three types of people in this world. Those who can count and those who can't.0 -
Thank you for the replies, I have done a test from my uni career website and it was quite bad! lol I just need to get into taking tests and I'm sure it will all come back to me! I'm definitely going to check out the bbc bitesize and civil service websites, thank you!0

I'd mug up on basics like percentages and fractions, understanding and analysing data in graphs/tables, and fairly practical maths like that as they cover most bases for non-specialist maths tests.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j
OU student: A103 , A215 , A316 all done. Currently A230 all leading to an English Literature degree.
Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0 -
Numerical reasoning tests, like everything in this world, just take practice.
You can brush up on the basics but do as many example tests as you can to get into the flow of how the questions are phrased.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
Hi
Try this link
Practiceapptitudetests. Dot. Com ]
There's about 7 tests on here. Also try SHL numerical test (type in google)...
As a graduate I just want to give employers a Cv and cover letter... I hate the amount of little things you gotta do for these jobs it's crazy0 -
got to be done I am afraid. Personally I love these. Hubby did numerical one today for an employer, and has done verbal and psychometric ones yesterday, his love is not so great!0
