Job Grants

I beleive from what you've said, you friend is part of the New Deal scheme. The applicant can receive £100 as part of the Advisor Discretion Fund for anything like clothes, boots, tools etc to help them into work. The Back to work bonus is £250.00, again similar to the Job Grant. The £40.00 per week is payable to the employer, not the employee, unless the employer decides to pay it to the employee. It's an incentive for the employer taking long term 18-24 yrs old JSA/IB/IS customers into work. There is a different rate for those over 25 and for those over 50 the subsidy money goes direct to the employee.
Ask at your local JCP Office for a New Deal Advisor.
Happy to answer anything I can

The £40 per week is paid directly to the EMPLOYEE0 -
Eagle_1 wrote:There is also a £100 clothing grant available which my friend got and purchased clothing for work from Asda and also £40 tax free week bonus for I beleive 20 weeks, thats on top of her wage.
(not 100% sure on facts as I say a friend got it but I can try to find out the details if anyones interested)
She got the above benefits and the £250 back to work bonus. I also beleive that the forms had to be filled in BEFORE she started work...again not 100% on that one but maybe someone else can advise.
It is supposed to be for one year0 -
why is there only help for people on benefits?
ive been out of work for 3 months due to a house move and couldnt get any help becouse i left my job and wasnt sacked.
and its hard paying a mortgage and other bills with just one wage coming in
anyone know of any help avalible for people like me0 -
there are help for unemployed people because they dont have an income, but they wouldnt get any help either if they left their job on their own accord, you could still have put an application in for JSA and stated that you had re-located, its a 50/50 chance you could have got some help.zipwen1 wrote:why is there only help for people on benefits?
