Milk & More

I'd just like to say that I think that Milk & More are bloody awful!
Everytime they have an offer e.g. spend £10 and get £5 off, I get billed for the full amount. I then have to ring them on an 0845 number (no email to contact). They then credit my account so the offer works out as me having to spend £15 to get £5 off (which wouldn't be so bad if they weren't overpriced to start with!).
They rang me in December with their latest offer - I could place a regular order of milk and get it free for four weeks, and I could cancel it after the four weeks. I placed an order for 1 pint of whole milk and 1 pint of skimmed.
The week after the first pints (which I opened a few days before the use by date and they were off) my invoice arrived. I'd been billed for the milk. I phoned them up and they credited my account, agreeing that the next four weeks would be free because of the offer and that I shouldn't have been billed.
About a week ago another invoice came. I'd been billed for all the milk again. I rang up slightly miffed and a guy said he'd cancel the invoice. I stressed that I didn't want a credit note, but that I didn't want to be billed for the milk. I also told the guy that two lots of milk had gone off well before the date. He said I wouldn't be billed for it. Logs in to my bank this morning... and the money has been taken out.
So now I'm going to have to ring them for a third time about this one offer which they rang me to take up! How can their system be so bloody rubbish that they have an offer, they tell me the offer, I accept the offer but somewhere down the line on numerous occasions they don't apply the offer!
Anyway, I want the money reimbursed, I don't want a credit note. Is the time frame the same as normal refunds with getting my money back? i.e. the 30 days, or is there a difference since they shouldn't have taken the money by DD? I also want to cancel my account as they're a lot more hassle than they're worth.
Milk & More can shove their pints where the sun doesn't shine!

There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

I think it depends where you are. Some people seem to get normal service, whereas around here it is a complete shambles. Totally unable to deliver an order as ordered. We've given them 3 chances in total, ordered for a while, order after order cocked up, given up. Several months break then are tempted back with an offer and assurances that their teething and/or order picking problems are sorted, but same again. Haven't ordered now for over a year and will not go back again as too unreliable. Items not delivered but charged, wrong items delivered, the special offer growbags do not exist (ordered them 3 times a week during the offer period and not one delivered). Also like you said, several bottles of milk gone off when opened even though in date and very short dates on everything including cheese, bacon and chocolate. We were trying to support the delivery service as we are in a semi-rural area and know it is valued by the Elderly in particular, but just had to give up. We had 3 deliveries a week and over a total of 30 weeks, only one delivery was correctly delivered and charged - which is pathetic.
My advice would be don't bother.
With regard to the direct debit, they have breached the terms, ring your bank and get them to reverse it as unauthorised. When I did it a few years ago with a car insurance, Lloyds TSB credited my account in 2 days - but I was a hardship case. Hope you get it sorted.0 -
I stopped using M & M ages ago, i found them to unreliable unless ordering just milk. Every time i ordered bread it had to be eaten within 24 hours or it's best before date expired and when ordering bit's and bobs for the kids lunch boxes every time certain items would be out of stock leaving me rushing around last minute before school looking for replacements.
Had a few mistakes where items were not delivered or wrong item delivered, i would then have to go buy it elsewhere and the milkman would deliver the correct items next day even though i no longer needed them as i purchased replacement elsewhere.0 -
Ended up just cancelling and heading off to the local Morrisons/Asda/Tesco. All within the same radius of the house.
At least then you can choose the expiry date of the milk & bread, and reach to the back for the fresh stuff.0 -
Thanks for the replies.
I've just phoned them and a woman tried to talk me into taking a credit note and having a couple of pints of free orange juice if I kept my account open. I refused. No doubt I'd be charged for the orange juice and it'd lead to umpteen phone calls and credit notes being made lol.
She spoke to someone and agreed that the money would be back in my account in 24-48 hrs, so I'll be keeping an eye on that. She also said she'd send a request for my account to be cancelled. Good!
They were useful for when I'd gone on holiday and needed a pint of milk on my return, but I've got a great neighbour who'd do that for me anyway.
So Milk & More... tattybye! You won't be missed! There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Gave them a week and no refund. Phoned the other day and was told to give it 24-48 more hours, 'we're really sorry, it'll definitely be in your bank.'. Surprise surprise it's not in my account still.
They're really pi$$ing me off!
Milk and more you are utter !!!!!! :mad:There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
