It was a trick question!
Your son needed to write in:
"e) I'd ask my dad to do it for me and when he didn't know the answer he'd ask people on the internet who would do it for me."
Any point in your comment, or do you just think you are being clever?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Sorry to hear he didn't get the job. But I agree these sorts of questions are ridiculous, and usually have sweet FA to do with the job. I've failed interviews like this before on the basis I checked the wrong box, apparently explaining your proposed actions and the reason for them are irrelevant. You can only assume these sort of interviews came about because the head office decided the interviewers are not intelligent enough to do a proper interview (which for a NMW job, doesn't take much).0

Obviously it depends on the job in question but ultimately the question is relevant as in theory it checks that people are going to do what they are told (the manager told them to check their daily results) and more importantly it judges if someone can understand what they are being told -v- what their training has told them to do.
If you look at a customer facing role it is rare that a customer will use word for word what you were told in the role plays in training. Instead you must understand what they are wanting (a daily report) and what you should do (work out your daily stats).
Ok, it is rare that interactions are in writing these days but it is arguably easier than spoken, as you can go back and reread so if you fail it in writing you are unlikely to deal better with spoken0
