Some Advice Please

Hi folks, I was hoping I could get some advice from the forum members wealth of knowledge,.
I moved back to the UK after 15 years abroad and have been back here for 13 months now, I was looking to get £6k car finance but after looking online and calling blackhorse it seems like you need to have 3 years address history in the UK, I checked my experian report and all it shows is my bill pay phone and NatWest current account, all green marks. Is there any companies that would be willing to lend to me without loan shark rates?

I applied on cancancarfinance.co.uk and got accepted but dont really want to buy a car over the odds and HIGH interest,
All advice greatly appreciated,
Thanks in advance, G.

A lot of lenders do require 3years address history.

Have you tried speaking to natwest as you bank with them? see if they would consider you?

  • Hi, Yes I tried them last month with an online application and got a refusal.......Natwest seem to be strict, I have an Experian account and tried their "lower my bills " options, initially it " suggested " aspire money, then once the I was here 12 months it recommended alliance and Leicester, santander and the co-op but dont want to apply continually as this wont help.....

Make sure you're registered on the electoral roll with your local council as this can affect credit scoring. Some lenders like Nationwide will use quotation credit report searches to give you an idea what they might charge you for a loan. This might give you an idea whether it's worth pursuing an application with them. The lower my bills recommendations are based on what those lenders have told us about their preferred type of customer.
