My first facebook win

I have been trying to get to grips with Facebook a bit more lately nad have now had my first prize from a facebook competition. It is Wii game - Disney Universe, signed by Jedward. It came from a Reveal comp posted by Alison18. and the first I knew about it was when it arrived in the post. (I still haven't really got to grips about how to search for my name on facebook).

Do you have to have friends on Facebook to win?
I've got an account but no friends...wouldn't want them plagued with comps (not that it's my guilty secret or anything...)
Just wondering whether I'm wasting my time without friends??
