Check out Post 1 and the FAQ on the front page and then just trawl your way thru the last 10/15 pages - you'll soon get the jist.
yes and....... write the offers down or print out the ones u r interested in.
never leave home without your boots card
when in new town always find time to pop into different boots
get a little bag esp for your coupons and keep it in your bag all the time
dont be afraid to try a deal and if it doesnt work have a ready excuse at till to abandon all the goodies and try again!:j I sometimes give myself admirable advice, but am incapable of taking it.0 -
Regularly check the ACM (advantage card machine) for deals, and if you see a deal you like, print out a couple of vouchers and check what date they expire. Some are only valid for that day, others are valid longer. Sometimes a deal is only on screen for one "go", so next time you use the machine it's gone. If its a deal worth using, and the voucher lasts, best to have a spare backup:rotfl:0

At the till, hand your basket over to the cashier, and when she's putting them thru the till, say "I've got something to return" and then bring your knotted bag of goodies out.
Thereby blindingly obvious you haven't just nicked it!
They shouldn't accuse people without reciepts who want exchanges but if they did then the security cameras would prove that the customer didnot steal if ever there was a need for a replay in a such a situation-just think of the compensation boots would have to offer for embarassing/accusing an honest customer, I wonder how many gift vouchers or points they would give?Love can tame the wildest0 -

Slough today, had the magazines and the No7 electrical. Also a few items of reduced sanctuary. Really pleased with myself as I came out empty handed apart from the boots mag, there is nothing I need at present. I will wait until later in the month when the kids need payg phones topped up. Could not see any £5 sanctuary vouchers.
Also had a few of the free MF nail kits. Lots of reduced botanics.0 -

They'll tell you that you can return skincare and you'll get the name of the CS staff to use as ammo should there be a problem when you're in Boots.
If you're trying to return skincare obtained during a promotional offer (ie, the No 7 wrap) then that's probably the reason the SA was being ar5ey with you.
Try returning the product - without receipt - after the No 7 wrap promotion has ended.
Likewise with your Botanics set.
Yup..I returned skin care items today. I had 4 Botanics items that really irritated my skin. I was told that without a receipt I could only have an exchange. Fine by me. (would have been nice if they could have put the money on a gift card so I wouldnt have to use the whole amount in one go...but the SAs were having none of it!!). I WAS asked if I had bought the Botanics using a voucher, and I just said "No"....without a receipt they cant argue.
So I exchanged for 4 x Naked shower gel on BOGOF, 2 x Naked haircare on BOGOF, 2 x shower gel for my fella and son on BOGOF, shampoo on BOGOF and an MF mascara. So turned a £20 exchange into £35 worth of stuff :T2008 gig list... Nickelback + Staind (OMG...Staind ROCKED!!), Roger Waters, Infadels, Pendulum, The Police, K T Tunstall, Breed 77, Biffy Clyro....oh, and Motorhead0 -
BargainMad wrote:In response to people asking if Boots tills are playing up - they have CHANGED THEIR POLICY on points awarding.
For weeks now if I have used a bonus or extra points coupon then the UNDERLYING transaction for that item does not earn points.
So if you buy something for £3 you would normally get 12 points. However if you have used, say, a 100 point coupon, then this over rides the 12 points and you just get the 100 instead. Previously you would get 112.
This is only a recent change but it will be national and I do not think they are going to reverse it.I know I bore people with saying don't milk the stores TOO MUCH but the above change has probably come about because the bean counters have mentioned Boots are giving away TOO MANY POINTS
What worries me is that the same bean counters may say they are giving away too many vouchers - particularly with the complaints they cause - and the good times will be well and truly over.
A 10-minute browse thru this thread, with comments such as "I didn't really need it, but just had to buy it", "I spent £15, but got a free (made in China for 10p) bag", "Great day, only spent £20 on (old stock Boots wanted to get shot of)!" shows that the offers all do their job and keep the bean counters happy. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I'd just set K9 on them!
