i emailed him today and asked him for a refund, or i'm starting a chargeback....

told him that it annoys me that it's not only taken him nearly a month with no correspondance, but you can now get it in sainsbury's for a third of the price...

Part of the idea of ordering was getting it first and giving it to people, for the fun. There's not much point in spending 3 times the price when it's in the shops.

I've also emailed peter jones and told him i'm writing to watchdog and rogue traders.

I see the web site is closed at the moment , secret of his own success, it seems he cant handle the volume of orders and enquiries. I bet he is concentrating on getting Sainsburys right and all the other big companies, so I guess you guys and girls who ordered direct are at the bottom of the pile.

Following this thread I would personally say to just do a chargeback with paypal. I am sure the guy could not have even imagined he was going to be an overnight success and maybe he is not sure how to handle it - especially if he has been working flat out. Not trying to make excuses for the poor service but just understand how things have panned out for him. He probably thought he would hve to work a few extra hours to make the sauce not have to open a whole production plant which can't be done from the lichen table.

In regard to the amount you have been charged on his website though... I would guess the postage on each glass bottle is going to be around £2.50 (small packet rate over 750g), £1.50 fo the sauce and 50p for Paypal charges so give the guy a break - it was a fair price when he was working from his kitchen. I would personally say he has been totally overwhelmed and does not know how to prioritise everything as he should - that is what inexperience does for you - especially if he is setting up a plant to make the stuff to keep up with demand. Do your chargebacks via Paypal - it is very easy and you'll get your money in 10 days - and pop off down to Sainsburys to get some. Good luck to him I say, I am sure he is smiling right now - even if being thrown feet first into the feet end without a lifejacket!!

It's not saying they will refund people who already bought and received the sauce only outstanding online orders!!

Pretty decent of the guy to offer refunds to everyone. He could quite easily of fulfilled the orders at £4.50 a go if he wanted.

Will get my refund and get some from Sainsburys.

Can't wait to put some music in my food
