I am not sure on the car insurance? It's fully comp for both my partner and I insured on our vehicle. Will shop around come renewal time.

Pay off one debt, then the money you were using for that, now freed up, accelerates payments to the next most expensive debt (and so on)Like all revolutions, guerrilla goodness begins slowly, with a single act. Let it be yours.

Quick message - you've included a google calendar screen print that includes a name on the screen - you might want to delete it?
I don't think you'd lose all additional income in tax credits, but others will be along that know. One advantage of a supermarket job is the potential discount on your shopping, so saving on you groceries. If you babysit, you'd just need to keep a record of how much you're paid for the hours (worth keeping good records), you can earn upto about £7,500 per year without paying tax, but need to tell HMRC you're earning that money. It will be taken into account in calculating your tax credits, but not sure how.
Good luck on the budgeting and planning - breaking down the groceries figure will help people to come up with ideas to help you. The only other thing is saw is that your car insurance seems quite high for one vehicle worth less than £800.Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -
If you're still really struggling then get in touch with one of the debt chaities such as National Debtline, CCCS or your local CAB. They might recommend a debt management plan (dmp) where your 'spare' money after the essentials are paid is split fairly between your creditors and you ask them to stop interest and charges.
Best of Luck

I will look into that. At the moment I don't know how my credit score is. I was late on a few payments last year, but do not know how that affects it. I was upgraded to a platinum card by NW last month though so would they do that if I have a poor score, not that I know what a platinum card really is? (My current account is with them)
Do DMP's make your credit score bad? To be able to rent most places round here you have to have a credit check so if we ever do manage to scrape a deposit together for somewhere cheaper (and smaller/better insulated so less money to heat) it would be rather gutting to fail credit checks. Having said that, maybe I would fail them anyway with so much debt? I don't know how it all works.0 -
I checked my credit report through noddle, I have a score of 2 which I gather is quite bad. There were 4 or 5 late payment marks to next in the last 5 years. Also 1 for barclaycard years ago. Everything is marked as up to date though. One odd check on there from bank of america last april which I know nothing about. Would that fail a credit check for letting agents?0

Quick question, with that score would I "fail" the credit check with a letting agency?0
