Question about a voucher , 50 off at Currys/PCWorld

Hello,
I have a voucher to receive 50 off when spending 200 or more at Currys from a large purchase I made in December. Now this expires soon (Feb sometime) and I'm not due to buy anything of that amount anytime soon. However, I was wondering if I could still take advantage of the discount.
My question is, probably a really stupid question, is what would happen if I purchased an for 200 then purchased an item for 50. used the voucher, total bill would be 200, then subsequently returned the 200 item for a refund?
Just wondering.......
Thanks
D
