Court Fee Remission

Can anyone tell me if when I go to court, as I'm on benefits I can apply for a remission of court fees, do I have to take any evidence with me on the day or simply complete the EX160 form and take that?

Many thanks

the court usher will give you a means form to fill out. you'll still be ordered to pay costs and a £15 victim surcharge that everyone has to pay. As you're on benefits you'll have them deducted £5 per week but it's your responsibility to make sure the money's coming out or else they can (and do) get baliffs involved.

i work in a court and we always take people's word for it if they say they're either working or unemployed.

Does this relate to Bankruptcy fees as this is what the OP is asking about?

I would ring the Court where you will be going BR and just confirm they would be happy with the Job Centre letters giving you your sign on dates. At least that's recent confirmation that you are in receipt of JSA. If they won't accept it then you'll need to speak to your Job Centre to see if they can print you an official letter for immediate collection, or postpone your BR unfortunately.
