Hi, I think most of us know how exhausting it can be being a full time mum. However, thinking of working and what job you can do is the first step.
Could you not do something to fit around the children? Most call centres do evening shifts and most don't expect experience as trained on the job. At the moment I am working as a part time cleaner in early mornings 5am -8am this means 1. I am home in time for my 2 eldest to go to school 2. I don't have to look for childcare at holiday times as I am at home anyway.
One thing you could do is look at the jobcentre and look at all the jobs available, you never know what you might find.
I can't imagine how you must be feeling after not having a 'proper job' but once you find something that suits you'll wonder what the fuss was all about.:smileyhea:heart: Mrs Lea Nov 5th '11

I know very little about benefits, but with four children and a partner on minimum wage, are you sure you're not entitled to income support?
I admire you for your ambitions and am sure it won't be long before something turns up.
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

It doesn't always work like that. Sairz has a working partner so she is expected to fund childcare herself. At least these were the rules at my college last year.coffeeandfags wrote:but if you were to do a college course, they should provide childcare for you.
Have you got a womens centre (YWCA)? This is where I started off doing a free word processing course and there was a free creche too.
Have you had a play about with figures on this site www.entitledto.co.uk. You would probably get help with childcare costs if you were to find yourself a job for at least 16 hours a week.0 -
sorry i have not replied ealier, thanks for all the advice, i am going to keep looking and see what comes up, fortunaltly i have a friend who works getting people into work and he is going to look into what funding there is for people in my situation, i also found that my local leasure center runs breakfast and after school clubs where they take and pick up children from school so i am going to have a look into this as it might work out a bit less expensive.
going to do a daily job search as you never know what is going to turn up, would have loved to do voluntary work at my kids school but as i have 2 under school age i wouldnt be able to as i cant see me getting help with childcare for voluntry work although i could be wrong?, anyway whatever i find i will post on here as im sure im not the only person in this situation. thanks again.Sairz xx
