Mortgage help...anyone?
scared-sick
I currently have a mortgage with Halifax.
I am on a 5 year fixed rate which started July2011.
My question is....would they let me switch to 12 months on interest only?
I am currently experiencing some financial difficulties and this would help immensly in resolving my problem. After the 12 months I would have no problem going back onto re-payment.
Anyone know the answer? I know I could ring Halifax and ask but I always worry that a phone call like that will be like putting a black mark against my name.

This depends on the LTV of the property and other factors
But you have only had the mortgage 7 months so might well get NO as an answer0 -
I was with halifax for 3 years prior to that too, so its not just a 7 month brand new mortgage.
I had a feeling it might depend on ltv but dont think I quite have enough if they went on this criteria.0 -
Anyone else got any ideas on this please?0

We can all speculate/guess but there is only one way you will get a definite answer.
My money's on a 'no' unfortunately, but I could be wrong.0
