Allied International and Defaulted Tesco Loan
Hi Guys,
Could really do with some help on this one, as I'm fairly used to PPI and interest charges being reclaimed but this is a different ball game.
A little bit of background first. My fiancee took out a loan in 2008 for £10k, which was fine until the end of 2010 when she hit financial difficulties and could not keep up repayments, therefore defaulting on the loan.
Triton (RBS t/a) DCA became involved and allowed her to pay £150 per month up until May 2011. At that time, she received a letter saying the payment was up for review and for her to contact them. Upon phoning them she was told that the debt was now being managed by Allied International (UK) Ltd and was given a contact number for them. When she phoned, a rather rude person told her to wait to be contacted by them but his has never happened. She has had no correspondence at all from either Tesco, Triton or Allied International since May 2011. She was also not made aware that the direct debit and agreement that had been put in place had been stopped at the same time.
She had (maybe foolishly but had no reason to believe anything had changed in regards to money being taken) assumed that the direct debit was still being taken and was looking forward to the loan being finished later this year.
Obviously, this is now causing a huge amount of stress as the full amount outstanding is around £4800.
What are my best options to help her in this scenario? Will she be opening a can of worms by contacting Allied? When she last contacted Tesco by phone a few months back for a balance (not realising that payments had stopped) they would give her no information at all - presumably because they were no longer handling the debt.
Any help on this would be a huge help, as I'm not entirely sure where to go.
Thanks

however as the loan is in default could she offer them a full and final settlement of 50% of the debt, assuming you or her or between you, you can raise £2400?0
