Morrisons stopped 78p Value Cashews

Went to stock up on cashews today and they have been removed from the shelves - no SEL - why? Any ideas?

They were popular and always a quick seller. Boo morrisons, this was my weekly treat.

Any ideas if they are coming back and what other yellow value products have they stopped doing?

what other yellow value products have they stopped doing?

    All of them.

They have stopped all yellow value products and are replacing them with white "M Savers" products.

That doesn't mean the cashew nuts will come back, but if they do they will be in a white packet marked "M Savers".
  • Are you sure that they are not in a nice new white bag? Most of my "yellow" regulars have been repackaged.

We buy the value chocolate spread (son has a nut allergy and cant have nutella, but we have always found this safe)

Before Christmas it was 89p, then after Christmas it went up to £1.24, yesterday it was £1.36!! Same old packaging.

Quite odd when others are reporting value range items being reduced as the packaging is changing.
  • No value unsalted Cashew Nuts in ASDA last week either.... just salted ones which are not what I was looking for. Again, no SEL...

wife buys value biscuts to feed the birds with, they have been repackaged, and a new dearer price, the price went from 19p to 39p a 48% rise they applied these price risies to all ther food,we wouldnt be eatin food poor birds :)
  • do they think we are really that stupid. Oh it annoys me, they were a treat so that is 78p I won't be spending, pennies I know but 78p a week back in my pocket unless they come back - perhaps we should have a wager on the new increased price!!

  • Asda seem to be having a rebrand too. Lots of lines disappearing when the stock runs out and they haven't had the new stock in yet.

The best place for cashews is a large Asian shop. You can get huge bags for a fraction of the price charged elsewhere. They are usually better quality too.

I went to Morrisons yesterday and saw the new packaging but must admit I don't generally buy their 'saver' range, I sent to get from Asda. But they did have 1kg backs of long grain rice in the 'saver' range for 40p so i got a couple. Asda charge 45-49p and Tescos charge about 68p. I know this is new product in that store as they have only ever had branded rice which has been expensive. I mean they way we make it, rice is rice until I am making rissoto, then it is different. I have looked for those cashews in my store but they have never stocked them. They are always "missing" the SEL is there but no nuts.
