Booking a flight just to shop in duty free

Does anyone know if you can legally book a flight, buy a load of stuff in duty free and instead of getting on a plane just go back through security.
I've missed flights before and just gone back through security so I can't see why it would be a big deal.
Anyone know the rules?
Thanks

im not sure why you would want to do this as duty free in the uk is never very cheap.
i dont see why not as long as you didnt go over the eu allowence tho.
what is it you want to buy?0 -
yea you can do this, im sure they wudnt rummage through your bags before you leave, unless you buy large quantity of items in duty free.
i dnt think it wud be worth it to book a flight and just shop in durty free0 -
You would not be going through customs as the are at arrivals which is usually a different level plus you could say you have left your phone in the car. But would the numbers stack up. you have to fly to a non EU country for fags, so the "nearest" would be Norway, you can only have a small case, so as previously mentioned probably not worth it. Yes, book a fully flex fare and then you can cancel at the last minute before getting on the aircraft and get a full refund.0
