Yes purleeeeze!
I put the ceramic innards and lid of my slow cooker into the conventional oven. Guess what? The handle on the lid melted so I discarded it and bought a new slow cooker, at a reduced price.
Today when I was preparing dinner I realised that the new slow cooker was way to big for the quantity I was cooking.
Looked out the one with the melted lid handle and dinner is bubbling away in it.
I did offer it on Freegle but there were no takers. (tendency to hoard)I'm not that way reclined
Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!0 -
One of our best daft gadgets that we use a lot is a popcorn maker, the type that makes air popped popcorn and is shaped like a duck. Great for cheap and relatively healthy snacks when you have groups of kids round unexpectedly. I'd replace it immediately if it broke down.
Other good ones? Breadmaker, as it's on every day. A George Foreman health grill for making toasties. Stick blender. Kenwood Chef with dough, mixing and whisking hooks, fast grater, potato rumbler, liquidiser and mincer.
Useless things that I'm intending to get rid of? A deep fat frier...I never fry anything! And the slow cooker..everything I've ever made in it has tasted faintly of overboiled dog food tbh. (And yes I've tried lots of different recipes.)
I swapped my deep fat fryer for an exercise bike:eek:I'm not that way reclined

BlushingRose, there are some decent (complete) small Spong mincers on Eb*y at the moment; average buy-it-now price seems to be about £12 + £5 postage. L*keland do a bigger one for about £30.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

I feel I would get even less use out of an exercise bike than a deep fat frier, if that's possible!:rotfl:Val.0 -

I'll second that. Surely if you have got rid of the Deep Fat Fryer you don't need the Exercise Bike anyway:think:
Don't have either and, funnily enough, don't feel like I am missing out, anyway, haven't gort room for an exercise bike in my kitchen cupboards:rotfl:MSE Addiction, should come with a health warning:money:0 -
I was given a halogen oven a while back, which was a lovely thoughtful gift, but since two of The Offspring have trotted off to uni & are thus in charge of their own (midnight-pizza-cooking) fuel bills, it hasn't been used once. It's massive & takes a lot of room to store & just doesn't work for my style of cookery (simple farmhouse stuff, mostly) - if I have my big oven on, I fill it up, and if I'm using the little one, well, I fill that too, and I can still get a lot more in it than I can the halogen oven - and I can cook the main course & pudding at the same time. Really not quite sure what to do about it - part of me wants to just give it away, but the other part says, it was a gift, and kindly meant! Dilemma... Part of me thinks one or other of the students should have it, but because they're in shared houses, they have no incentive to save on fuel bills as they're shared too & their housemates don't seem to worry about them.
We've had a lot more space to store food since I stopped amassing kitchen gadgets that only get used once in a blue moon, and it's amazing what you can achieve with a good sharp knife, a hand whisk & a grater...Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
not me, but exH: juicer, cooking stone, electric steamer, etc etc.
me: just one: a fondue set that hasn't been used once, it's le creuset and branded "toblerone" - so it may be off to ebay.....
I KNOW I would never use a breadmaker or an ice-cream maker, much as I might like the idea of them......:AA/give up smoking (done)0 -
Talking of exercise bikes.....
Exercise bike
Treadmill
Rowing machine
All gathering dust in garage.
Coffee machines for me...I've had 3 different ones, each one I used for a few weeks then went back to Douwe Egberts lovely instant as it's easier. Hopefully now I've learnt my lesson, no more coffee machines.0
