If he has been made unemployed in the last 6 days then surely he must have some money owing to him from his employer?Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0

yes but not enough to cover the loan, he has opened another bank account and is going to move all his direct debits to that account.so now they cant touch anything he has going into the account , does it now stand like a usual debt , he owes the money and if taken to court can arrange a repayment shcedule?
Are you mad? Why do you want to take it to court, by the time they take it to court, your brother will owe them x,xxx.
Pay it now !!!!!!. Surely you can help your bro out.0 -
OP you say your brother borrowed the £250 6 days ago then immediately lost his job.
I think he is pulling your plonker, more like he knew he was losing his job and borrowed without giving a flying !!!!.
He may think he is being a !!!!!!, but MrLender always gets the last laugh trust me!!0 -

So pay what he can to debt and arrange to pay the rest off over the next couple of months - he is a long time from court.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0 -

Advice is to repay it by selling whatever naff tat the money was wasted on.
There does seem to be a carefree attitude between the two of you about this going to court.0 -

You've had plenty of avice.

Hi, This is the first time I have posted on here but I have got myself in a financial pickle (hence my name) with Mr Lender and another payday loan company. The money needs to be paid back as quickly as possible all the interest will just keep piling on. If you contact Mr Lender and are honest with them, they will help - they have helped me and I am now in an affordable repayment plan with them. I am however also selling as much 'tat' as I can so that I can this debt cleared quicker as I dont trust these companies not to attempt to take the money anyway.
I took advice from National Debtline to deal with my stuff and they were great - they directed me to lots of the advice on this site also to deal with some of my other issues.0 -
If he cancels the agreement obviously the money is still owing , he just wont beable to pay until he finds another job , he`s not refusing to pay the money back he just cant keep to the agreed date?
He cannot cancel the agreement without repaying the money he borrowed plus whatever cancellation charge applies. So that isn't an option. If he leaves the debt unpaid while he "finds another job", the debt will increase rapidly. If it's left unpaid until it ends up in court, the amount to pay will literally be thousands of pounds. If he has ANY of the money left he needs to put it aside and sell whatever he can to make up the shortfall to pay the loan off. TV, playstation, Xbox, whatever. He can replace whatever he's had to sell when he "finds another job"....DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244
