Harveys Furniture Reading. Warning

My wife and I went to Harveys shop on boxing day, We selected an sofa and the staff there suggested us to also buy a Fabric Care-kits (25GBP) which we did. We paid the money and signed the invoice and see off by their staffs.

We cancelled the order within 24 hours, and the staff told us the care-kits cannot be refunded, as the sofa is the main thing, I agreed and got the refund for the sofa and the delivery fee only.

Yesterday my wife made a phone call to the shop asking when we can get the Care-kits, and was shocked by being told that we have taken the care-kits on the day, as on the invoice it was stated "Good Taken", which we were not aware of the meaning on the day, as we were thinking they will come altogether by delivery.

The staff on the phone said we must had taken the good, as it not only stated on the invoice, but also their stock are correct without an extra care-kit...

We will go to the shop today to meet the staff who have served us on the day with the hope that she can remember we did not take the good with us, and we are hoping they may have CCTV in the shop, what else we can do to prevent the lose of 25 pounds? Thanks for any suggestions in advance, and pay attention on your next shop in any Harveys store...

  • Hello there! This does sound unusual and I do apologise if you feel that the staff have in any way made you feel uncomfortable about the situation. Would you mine emailing me on the email in my profile with your original order number and full name and, if you can remember at all, whom you spoke to in store.

    I am sure we can get this resolved, and for the sake of a fabric care kit, it shouldn't be an issue. As i say, send me the information and I shall put a call in to the store and make sure that this is settled for you.

    Update: Get feedback yesterday, been advised to go to shop again and get the care-kit, we will go tomorrow to find out. 28/01/2012
