Art on Ice: Chris de Burgh

Really sorry to read so many people could not make Art on Ice last Saturday evening. I agree entirely with comments re: short notice.
This was my first win, and I managed to get myself there, despite the fact I live 4 hours away / short notice (e mailed me Friday afternoon) / very deep snow here (roads blocked on Friday) ... we were in two minds about going. 8 hours of driving, home after 2am I'm still shattered.
Got to Sheffield around 3.30pm, and the worse part was walking through a shopping centre on a Saturday afternoon! Why do people voluntarily venture into such places? Where I picked up my tickets, from the list the receptionist had, there appeared to be about 4 names ticked off (as in people who had collected their tickets). The original prize, there was about 15 tickets to give away. The stadium was about half? full, that said it was huge.
Here's a couple of videos:

My apologies for the quality, I took them from a still camera and it wouldn't let me zoom in. The still shots were even more difficult, as flash photography wasn't allowed, and my camera didn't allow me to switch to a night setting plus a fast shutter speed.

For those people who won, and who wish to know the value of this prize for the comping challenge, it would be £80. From where I was sitting each ticket was £40 (value of tickets ranged from £30 - £50).
Thank you to Sage for posting this competition, and thanks to all MSEers who take their time to post competitions every day. This forum and the chance to win prizes, wouldn't exist without its contributors.

I'm deaf, so music is kind of lost on me. All my friends find it completely hilarious that I won this, plus the irony.

If it hadn't been for the ice skaters which made it really visual, I would have fallen asleep.
But yep, I did enjoy it thanks. I dragged my mum along with me, she is still talking about. Me: I just need to catch up on some sleep! 0 -
thanks for posting those pics
hope you enjoyed the night and have recovered your sleep!0 -
Glad you had a good time. I was one of the people who won this but it's about 600 miles away so I couldnt ahve gone there with 24 hours notice. By the way, you have to be deaf to enjoy a Chris De Burgh concert
