I think the general advice is to ignore all communication from them. Don't pay a penny. ignore, ignore, ignore....0

Ok well you need to first confirm this was a private ticket and not a local authority ticket issued by a contractor.
Once you are sure you can ignore the ticket, it is not a fine it is a charge, however this will not stop the letters, the calls and the threats.
I would go to the Forum about parking tickets on here as some people on there are experts, I work in Local Government so don't know a great deal about private tickets. I do sure know that the new Fredoms Bill is not out yet so you should have no issues!.
There should also be details of how to appeal, this will delay things even further giving you time to decide and check things out!
Don't worry though, not a big issue.0 -
Also ask the Private Company what they are going to do with your data and your details. You may then decide you have a case against them for DP.
I have a good contact at the data commissioner's office shoudl you fancy a go at that.0 -
You havent got a 'fine' they have no authority to 'fine' you. It is an unenforceable invoice.
Only the police and courts can 'fine' you.
Private ticket, completely ignore every thing they send you and come back on here for reassurance.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

As above, if it's from the local council just pay up, if it's one of the countless private companies ignore it, you'll get letters, some of them in different fonts and colours - if you're still worried, post in the motoring/parking section on here or read some of the posts in there to be reassured.0

As correctly stated by other posters, if the notice has been issued by a contractor acting for a local authority, you have to pay it. If it has been issued by a PPC, ignore it. I would also take up assj's offer of his contact at the Information Commissioners Office (ICO). As of 6 April 2010, any data controller/user found in breach of the Data Protection Act 1998 can be issued with a Financial Penalty Notice (FPN) by the ICO up to a maximum of £500,000. Yes, that is correct, five hundred thousand or half-a-million pounds. Go to the ICO's website for further details. You might also wish to lodge a complaint with the ICO against DVLA for improper disclosure of your personal information to a PPC. If more motorists do this, DVLA will, eventually, get the message and stop aiding and abetting the chancers who run PPCs and, as a consequence, put them out of business.0

as all the above....you can get off these as the are simply an 'invoice', not a fine.
I have got off 2......
1) My company car; I admited it was registered to me, but told them I have no legal obligation to maintain a record of the driver. If their accusation was that I was the driver at the time, then they should furnish me with their evidence.
No further contact!
2) Acknowledged that it was me, but queried the signage (they accused me of being in a car park for 60 min)...I told them the sign I read said 90 mins, and that I had a picture of it as evidence - please take me to court where I can show them it. ('course, there were no pics!)
No further contact!
I have heard of lots of people simply ignoring completely also.
Good luck :beer:0 -
