No you're misinformed on that, all Amazon marketplace sellers are obliged to refund the buyer when an item is returned for any reason.

Sounds like the OP has their "1-click ordering" settings switched on.
It's a useful tool if you are intending to purchase [and increase Amazon's sales] ... but it is a pain in the bum for seller's who have buyers who are not fully aware of the in's and out's

If you would like to adjust the settings ...
click 'Your Account' at the top of the Amazon home page
look for 'Account settings' ... 2nd pane down
click 'View or change your 1-Click settings' [you will need to login]
on the right hand side of the window is a large yellow button ... 'Turn OFF 1-click ordering' ... click this.
You're done.

Thanks for this post - one click ordering was also on my amazon account (although I didnt put it there) and I have now turned it off.
