Capquest Debt Recovery - Orange Bill

Hi,
I am looking for a bit of advice regarding a mobile phone bill from Orange dating back to early 2009 that is now with Capquest Debt Recovery. Long story short is I always do my upgrades at my local Phones4U store and usually end my contract a month/2month early and use the cash back I get from my new Phones4U contract to buy myself out of the existing contract early. So in 2009 I changed from Orange to TMobile. The TMobile started in March and I paid my first direct debit at the end of March and My final Orange direct debit came out at the start of April for more than double the regular monthly contract (buying out early) Now after almost 3 years Capquest have sent me a debt letter for another £50 for an outstanding Orange bill. I have been trying to sort this out since last October but they are hopeless! I have requested itemised phone bills to show what/when this bill is for and have still not received them, all they send is an invoice of the payments I made with the £50 at the end. I don't believe I owe this money and they are telling me I can't get statements sent as the account is closed, what can I do? I am happy to pay the bill if I do owe the money but I don't believe I do as this is the 1st time I have been contacted about it by anyone, Orange never sent me any bills. Has anyone else had dealings with this company or had a similar problem that can help me? I don't want something like this on my credit rating. Thanks

Hi, thanks for your reply. I did a credit file check and couldn't see anything on it, orange wasn't even showing at all. I have asked capquest for proof but they have told me they can't provide me with statements etc for the account and that if I do not pay it will go down as a default on my credit score0
