Barclays Secured Loan - arrears litigation

I was struggling to pay a Barclays secured loan so I went onto lower repayments for 6 months. In October I called Barclays to reinstate the normal higher payments - they put an agreement in place so that the normal higher payments would come out in Nov, Dec & Jan but as of Feb they would have to include payments to cover the arrears that had mounted ( £3700 ) - fine.
I wrote Barclays a complaint letter in December about the lack of consideration and compassion they had shown me and my situation ( a very long story that includes my ex husband having stolen the money £30k and spending the lot upon seperating leaving me in a right mess as the house was changed into my sole name ).
My ex has been in touch recently advising he could start to repay the loan again so I called Barclays yesterday to check he had been in contact with them and they tell me it has suddenly gone into litigation and that the original agreement arranged in October was done in error! Can they go back on an agreement like that??!! They will no longer speak to me and tell me I have to wait for the litigation team to contact me which could take weeks, but meanwhile I should continue to make the monthly payments.
I am at my wits end with Barclays and am so afraid I will loose my house - can anyone please advise?

You didn't say whether Barclays had confirmed your ex had been back in contact.
If they had reduced the terms, why did you then write them a letter complaining about their lack of consideration?0 -
Thanks Woodbine, I will0

Thanks LovelyLeeds - I will check a copy of the paperwork as you suggest. Barclays wouldn't confirm whether he had even called as I wanted to know what he had said - all confidential which is very frustrating since it seems ultimately he still gets some sort of control over MY house!
I wrote them a complaint letter after I had been to citizens advice as although I had agreed to the higher payments, I wanted to vent about the interest rate they were charging and see if there was ANYTHING Barclays would do to help. I have had to go to Court and obtain an AOE against my ex which has taken 3 years so far, in order to secure the payments to Barclays. Barclays know all of this and yet only concentrate on me for the repayments as I am still in the house.
I actually had the letter from litigation on Saturday which basically tells me they want the arrears paying immediately and for the monthly payments to continue as it, rather than arrears to be spread of 2 years as increased payments0
