new year new me

Hi all, have decided to join.
To cut a long story short have roughly £10000 of debt that I really want to get rid of this year( well going to give it a good go).
Have decided to set myself some goals for this year:
1) Stop smoking - this will give me an extra £200 to pay towards my debts

2) Reduce spending on groceries- have 2 young boys sometimes there is no filling them

3) Aim to have 15 No Spending days a month

4) Start saving for next christmas now ( have started a menage at work £50 a month and will pay out in October)

Any tips or advice welcome and hope i dont bore you all too much:)

So not able to properly start the money saving as it is DH birthday tomorrow so have spend quite a bit of money today as a family, at least the kids had a great time.
On a positive note DH kept going on about going into Mr Ts but I kept telling him no that there is nothing we really need and would end up buy £20 worth of rubbish:j
Have had 2 credit card statements in just waiting on the other 2 then will add my figures to the signature. Have decided that from Monday I am going to keep a record of all my spending to see what I can save on.
Working all day tomorrow but at least it means its sunday money and also an extra shift so means i will have a bit extra to pay to the debt,

    Hi
Welcome to the board. think about joing the Pay off all your Debt for Xmas 2012 thread; it is so motivating and i'm sure encourages people to cutback more and pay more off the debts than they normally would

Yesterday was busy all day at work( work 12.5hr shifts) so was a NSD for me. Today will also be a NSD as i have all i need for lunches and dinner then will head out for a nightshift this evening.
Need to clean this house , honestly I dont know how my DH and 2DS can make it so untidy in one day:(. Funny how men never notice the mess my hubby always says Its not that bad, maybe I should send him to the opticians.
Pay day on Thursday so will have some money in the bank. Going to strive not to go into the overdraft this month at all.

Have been nightshift for the past 2 nights so both have been NSD:j
Wages paid into bank today and this month i was only £50 overdrawn which is a miracle for us. On the bad side while driving home from work this morning the tyre on my car burst so it will be a trip to the garage tomorrow hoping it doesnt cost me too much .
going to try and organise my SOA and post that up and also show all the debts on my signature.

Have finally posted my SOA and am surprised at how much cash i should have left for me to pay of debts, just shows how much of our money is squandered away:(
Have also organised to switch accounts which should give me £100 cashback in 13 weeks and hopefully also £30 worth of amazon vouchers:D:D

Finally got the tyre on the car fixed costing me £60:(
Just been and done a shop at Mr Ts costing me £57 but this should do me at least 2 weeks:). Have been struggling not to smoke so decide to buy a nicorette inhaler while there, was reduced from £20 to £16, figured it was better to spend the money than blow £200 a month on ciggies. Went to the check out and it scon at £6.50 yippee!!!
Busy weekend am doing an extra nightshift tonight and then taking the boys to the cinema tomorrow afternoon and then an extra shift on Sunday morning. Then it will be home and try and get organised for the start of next week.

So staurday was a great family day out at the pictures, but this means most of my entertainment money is used for the month but was worth it to see how much my kids enjoyed it:)
Sunday and mon were both NSD, £10 spent in asdo yesterday getting bread potatoes and some other fruit and veg. Stuff for dinner in the fridge and will be working all day tomorrow so again NSD.
Went to the bank today , most of the DD are now off my account, really hate when your account goes from looking quite healthy to quite empty in a day:eek:
I will aim not to go into my OD this month as this will be a big step forward for us as usually into it from the middle of the month.

This week has just bflown past in a daze, have been really busy at work the up side of this is that i have had no time to spend money:j
First visit to Mr T this week and spent £43 and i have enough food to last almost 2 weeks, may just need to do a small top up shop next week for oj and veg
My extra hours were paid into the bank yesterday and my balance looks quite health, strange not to already be in the overdraft. Hubby should hopefully be paid today and then i can work out how much extra i can afford to pay to the cc this month
Hope everybody has a great weekend
