Advice - Employers paid me wrongly

Me again.
My employers have incorrectly paid me for this month (and December) they say that I can have the money back, but it will not be in cash, I will have to wait until next months pay packet. I am financially struggling, and cannot afford to ignore £120 that I am now owed.
Where do I stand legally?

Well, legally if you suffer a loss as a result of somebody else's mistake you can look to them to make it good. You have a duty to keep your losses as low as possible.
So, for example, it would normally be cheaper to use your own savings rather than go into overdraft. However, if you don't have any savings it would be cheaper to arrange a loan from the bank rather than clock up an unauthorised overdraft etc etc. Presumably the interest should only be a few pounds?
In theory you could claim the actual cost of the interest from your employer.
Much better would be to explain the situation to your employer. There should be some means in advancing you some money and correcting it on the next payslip. If they won't then do as I have said above and politely tell your employers that you will have to ask them to reimburse the cost as it is their fault.0 -
Can you ask your employer for a sub / advance of say £100 ?
This will be processed in your next "official" pay so that the tax and national insurance are correct.
Unfortunately, if the say no (and if you have been there for less than 12 months etc. etc.) it is then up to you how you want to progress.0 -
Also might depend on why you have been underpaid. Where I work, if it's an employer error and the employee needs the money they will be advanced some cash. If it's an employee error we tend to say hard luck you can have it when you are next paid!0

Ask them for a cash advance on it and see what they say.0
