I'm dipping my toe into the BB waters myself, and after reading around, decided to try the Korean versions as they sound a little more sophisticated (shade shouldn't be too much of a problem as I'm a porcelain-skinned Scot anyway; apparently it oxidises on the skin and gives a better match after a few minutes..we'll see).
I put this on the BB Creams thread but might be relevant to those who hadn't saw the link..this compares the European BB Creams' shades to the Skin79 varieties: http://beaut.ie/blog/2012/bb-creams-korean-brand-skin79-swatched-european-bb-comparisons/
I doubt the No7 or Estee Lauder ones would be any good for me..too peachy/orangey!!0 -
I was at an event for Estee Lauder about two weeks ago with their international makeup artist. He said their BB Cream is meant to be worn under foundation like a primer.
Defends the purpose of what a BB cream is suppose to be.0 -
I love Holika Holika Petit BB Moisture (about £6 delivered on Ebay) which has the coverage of a full foundation but still looks dewy and sheeny but it is for very pale skin only. For a similar effect, I would try Make Up Fo Ever's Face & Body Foundation which comes in lots of different colours -
Same here
I have switched from my usual Lancome Colour Ideal or Mac StudioFix to Holika Holika Petit BB Cream and the korean ones are totally different to this UK rubbish!
They give a good coverage -so much more than a tinted moisturiser, are a primer, moisturiser and everything built into one.I don't need to use a concealer for my dark circles anymore either. It looks natural and lovely and is so much cheaper.I highly recommend trying the korean ones for any pale skinned woman!
I wouldn't personally bother with the european BB creams as they are just tinted moisturisers-some of them are even just meant to be used as primers. If you read the reviews of some (ie the Smashbox one which some rave about) people use them as either their base before foundation or use them after priming.Completely defeats the purpose of a real BB cream so it just goes to show that they are not the real deal and a total waste of moneyIf women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0
