Can Lenders See Balance History??

If lenders do a credit search, can and are they allowed to see your balance history??

Comments

  • I'm sure an established expert will be along to set me straight, but they can only see the original loan value, current balance and the payment history (i.e. did you pay each month or not).
From that they may be able to deduce the amount you paid each month (by assuming regular repayments) and hence the historic balance, but I doubt they do this in practice.
  • They also know if you paid the minimum each month, as there is a marker for this.
