Credit scores for foreigners
Hi there!
I have searched the threads and am not having much luck.
I recently moved to the UK(6 months ago), i have a british passport and dual nationality.
I am experiencing problem getting credit, i applied to my bank(lloyds) who informed me that i need to have banked with them for 3 years. Prior to that i have applied for credit cards and still been refused on the basis that i do not have enough address history. I have yet to miss any account payments.
do i really have to wait 3 years to get any sort of credit? or is there another way around this?
Please can someone help
cheers

LTSB are actually changing their policy for EU residents coming to GB to work.
At the moment it is for new to bank customers only but will be rolled out for everyone in the next few months.
Not much help now I know but something to consider in the months ahead.
I would get myself on the electoral roll, this will help with any credit application.
What I don't understand is why you are classified as a foreign national at all??
If you have a UK Passport why are you not claiming to be one of us.
Did the bank make a mistake when opening your account or you did not explain fully your circumstances at the time?
You can ask them to update their records and see if this makes any difference to your credit history with them.
Otherwise consider opening a bank account at another bank TELLING THEM that you are british and you should be ok.0
