Advice Needed

Have happily been in my job for 11 months until this week where I was told Id be getting 1 weeks notice.

I had done nothing, wrong, and had no previous warnings. Also I found my job advertised online and it was posted 1 week ago whilst I was on annual leave.

I know I cant go mployment tribunal as you need to of worked 12 months min. Ive been to CAB also not much they can do

Any other advice anyone could recommend?

Sadly I dont think there is much you can do as you need to be employed for 12 months to have any rights. From what I understand you can be dismissed for any reason the employer gives as long as its not discrimination.
  • Yeah thats what I thought.

Although Ive been informed that apparently they can;t advertise a job unless its actually available.

    That is nonsense I'm afraid!

When you say 11 months, presumably your week's notice doesn't take you over the magic year?

Otherwise, unless you can argue discrimination (racial, sexual religious etc) you are stuck.

I expect whoever takes on your role will find themselves in the same position in 11 months time - or indeed 23 months time as I believe they are changing it so you can be sacked for no reason before 2 years from this April - because what we all need is yet more job insecurity.
