divorce/pre existing loan, who pays?

My wife took out a £10,000 loan after we had separated (we have not started divorce proceedings yet) but I was wondering if anyone knows if I will still be liable to pay half of this? She used the money for cosmetic surgery.

If she took it out in her name only it will ONLY be her responsibility. However, if you had to sign anything to do with the loan things are very different.

My husband is not responsible for credit taken out in my name alone. Nor am I responsible for his. Only jointly agreed loans do we both have a liability for should the regular payer default.

Depends if you signed the thing or secured it to your property.

It'd suck to have to pay 10k for boobs you can't squeeze (that's me assuming).

If they pay half the loan each, perhaps they could split the boobs?
