Self Employed listing outgoings/expenses on tax return

Hi
Was wondering if anyone can please advise. I have completed my tax return online for the last two years. The first time I did it - as I don`t earn much clicked a box that enabled me to make one entry for the total of my expenses/outgoings. This time last year my earnings were similar but I couldn`t find how to do this so ended up having to split all the expenses etc and list them individually. Once I had submitted my return someone said if I`d clicked ..... then I wouldn`t have to have listed them indvidually. Silly me never wrote down what they said.
Before I start to input my info at the weekend please does anyone know which box or boxes I tick so I am able to just make one entry for the outgoings/expenses.
Many thanks

Hi I've just filled this in on my tax return in. If you don't earn much money it's usually the 'short' self-employed tax return you fill in and I think it's on page 4 of this where they ask about expenses and it gives you the option of breaking them down or putting them as a whole. I don't know what the 'full' self-employed tax return is like but you usually only have to fill that in if you are earning quite a lot of money or where certain conditions apply.katies_mum wrote: »Hi

Thank you, I decided to have a go yesterday and the screens hav changed slightly from last year, so as you say it gave two options to either lump it all together or list outgoings seperately. pheww! just got to be brave and press the button to sendit now.0
