Selling broken Mobiles

Has anyone sold a broken mobile phone to one of these recycling sites? I have got a couple of iphones to sell which are all working and I am going to put onto Ebay as should make quite a bit more for them. But I do have a broken iphone 3gs which averages out at about £30 (I was just going to chuck this as so anything is a bonus). It has a crack up the back of the back panel and the front screen is cracked in the corner (both where it was dropped) and I think it is still working but not entirely sure, will check this tonight. I obviously would be selling as not working because of these problems.

The question I have got is do you think they will still take them, it does not say whether they have to be intact or not just not working, I would rather bin it rather than waste anyones time that is all, but £30 is £30 if you know what I mean :)

I would never send my phone to one of these companies after the experience I had.

Can't remember which one i sent it to, but it was a blackberry, in immaculate condition, they offer £65 in their online quote which i thought was fair.

When they received it, they calimed it was scratched and offered £23 quid.

I should have read the terms admittley, because if I wanted the phone back, i had to pay them a £10.

After a lot of arguing, and stress I got my £65.

    Just read their terms
  • LOL a local shop had a sign ^we buy broken mobiles* so I took my old Nokia and the bloke laughed!! He was Ok about it and we had a good laugh - they want modern phones they can repair not museum pieces!

Does anyone know a company that buys smashed iphone's? Mine works perfectly but can't find any information on buying them with smashed screen?

    Thanks
  • I looked at envirofone yesterday and they give each broken phone a separate price dependant on whats wrong with it, rather than just a blanket price for "broken". cant say if they are any good as havent sent phone off yet but might be worth a look...
