Tesco price check - different prices

Can someone explain this to me.
I ended up doing 2 shops yesterday at Tesco the same store.
On the first shop I bought 1 bottle of 4 pint milk at £1.18
Did the price check and the result comes back today saying that Asda's price was also £1.18.
The second shop I buy 3 bottles at £3.54, price check comes back today saying Asda's price is £3.18 or £ 1.06 per bottle.
Do Asda have multibuy offers so that 3 bottles would work out at £3.18 for 3 or do they do 3 x £1.18?
I've looked back at previous price checks and the asda price keeps changing sometimes it is quoted at £1.06 and at other £1.18. Different days I could understand the price changes, but why would it be different prices on the same day?

To answer your question have a look on mysupermarket/asda and see what the price of milk is.
Yes asda may have an offer on if you buy 3 cartons of milk eg buy 3 and save x amount.0 -

asda are £1.18 each or 2 for £2
so if you buy three, price is £2 + £1.18 = £3.18
so price check is correct0 -
Asda have been selling their 4 pint milks at 2 for £2 for quite a long time now.
Tesco have had that offer on and off, but dropped it when they introduced their failed 'Big Price Drop' that meant effectively their price of milk actually went up not down !0
