Just to clear-up any confusion... The Thomson Local Nectar partnership is for the print directory only, and commenced with distribution of the 2007 edition directories.

Distribution goes on throuought the year. So far, areas to get their copy include; Nottingham, Stoke-on-trent, Leicester, Walsall, Preston, Bradford and Islington, amongst others.

  • I got mine a few days ago.

Some ads through the directory have nectar logo in them, you phone the 0845 number, enter your nectar card number and then you get rewarded with the points (50 for each ad) then you are forwarded to the advertiser.

    Calls cost max.5p per minute.

I have a list if anyone wants me to post some.

Not worth it really if you have to call an 0845 number at 5p/min. 50 nectar points are only worth 27p. Did you check to see if the number was listed on http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php?

Surely bypassing the 0845 number would mean bypassing the function to enter your nectar card number & therefore defeat the purpose? Wonder if anyone's tried it & found out if that's the case.

It shouldn't if you are calling a 01/02 number that takes you to the same department as the 0845 number. Often companies have 0845/0870 numbers that will enable you to reach the same route.

It would be good if MSE users could start posting the phone numbers of the companies participated in this scheme.
  • Shame.....I put them paperbank... I didn't realise they will earn some nectar points for me.. :(

I appologise for the delay in replying to those who have PM'd me for the list, I haven't had a day off so haven't really had much chance to reply.
I'll copy the list out tomorrow and I will post them on here in the morning,

( this is for an area of Greater Manchester- but that won’t matter, that will be your get out clause when it comes to needing the service)

    1 call the number
2 key in your nectar number when asked
3you will be put through to the advertiser
4 THEN your points will be added.
