I got some epoxy glue ages ago (the stuff with the hardener in a different tube which you have to mix) and it was really good, so when I ran out I went to get more. It was different packaging (tubes labelled A & B instead of adhesive and hardener) and I was disappointed with it: it's much weaker than the old stuff.
I was pleased to find they recently had the Bostik stuff in stock, which I hope will be good and strong since it's a well respected brand.

I recently got some loctite super steel cold weld stuff from poundland. Going to try use it to fix the tailgate lifter on my car so I don't have to use a prop all the time. Packaging suggests it can hold up to 150kg per 1cm squared, which is about 20 stone I think.

If anyone remembers the thread for this off the freebies board you'll know they taste disgusting. Save your pound!

well... I'm sorry for posting this, if you find it so disgusting... I just thought it was good bargain.

To be honest, I went back and got another 3, because I thought they tasted really good. Personally I don't think they taste any different than the weird mixtures (chocolate, cream, caramel, flavours, frappucinos, etc) they do at the chain-coffee-shops for £2.X0, and they are a lot cheaper. But that is just my opinion.

Great thread, by the way. It feeds my poundland addiction!! I never spend less than £5 when I got there.:D
  • maybe they should rename yours £5-land!
  • got loads of halloween from Swindon today as ds is having a few friends round for tea, also got some nailene duracolour stick on nail strip which are nail varnish stickers (they do similar in avon called instant manicure or something like that have seen them in there for £5) ,just tried using them but not keen at all it says' faster and easier than polish' which IMO is total S@!# they are fiddlely and the finish was pretty shoddy but maybe pratice makes perfect lol

Be careful what you wish for; Poundland turned me into a shoplifter. I read this thread from start to finish yesterday and shlepped into Stratford (not upon Avon) to see what all the Poundland excitement was about and all I managed to get was a perfect view of two women having a shouting argument which developed into pushing and looked like becoming a fully fledged fight, Now in fairness to Poundland this is not an uncommon sight in Stratford but I was a little taken aback and made a very swift exit, not noticing until I was almost out of the shopping centre that I was still clutching two microfiber cloths.

I tried to return to Poundland, only to find it surrounded by police (well there were two Community Support Officers but surrounded sound so much more exciting) trying to separate the warring bargain hunters. I felt that it might not be a very good time to explain what had happened with the microfiber cloths so I just put them into my bag and made my way home.

The cloths are still sitting in my bag, accusingly, well as accusingly as inanimate object in handbags can be.

So the next time someone asks how much things in Poundland cost the answer might be much more complicated that 'just a pound'. ;)

    Trudiha,
Have you seen the film "Purely Belter" where the two boys go shoplifting in Poundland?? They decide only to nick the good stuff :)
Don't worry - if it's anything like the movie your little crime spree will end happily!
    Cheers

Next time you take two friends with you to "fake a fight", make sure you fill your bag up with goodies!!
