Not sure if I'm in the right place but here goes.
I'm a self employed Plumbing/heating Engineer. Recently the incidence of refusals to pay for work completed has increased. I'm acutely aware of how hard it is for everyone financially at the moment but, I'm spending more time chasing bad payers, people who have been happy with my work but deliberately fail to pay. At the beginning of my self employment I was almost bankrupted by a rogue builder who took advantage of my nievity and then folded owing me £5000. I now don't allow people to get too far along without paying.
My problem is the smaller debts, £50 up to £250 who then refuse to pay knowing that it will cost me time and money to recover my outstanding debts.
I need advice regarding the most cost effective way to recover money and leave the debtor in no doubt will recover what's owed.
Ideas please?

You won't get many replies to this as you're in the wrong bit of the forum.
Not sure where it might be better to repost your question - possibly the employment bit? Or maybe in my home because of the traders who post in there? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
