I learned with several companies including BSM and would say go with a local company that employs more than one instructor. BSM did not do home collections and were the most expensive but the tuition was no better than anyone else ,one local company I tried some years ago had only one instructor who was Ill on my test day and no back up.

Just my 2cents... I have been with both bsm and an independent company (Zodiac). I found BSM much better.. more professional, the instructors much more experienced and how to put me at ease.
The independent company were cheaper but I had 15 lessons and I was told I needed many more lessons to pass. The company also cancelled on me at last minute. I switched to BSM and I was told I would be ready for my test in a few months. I have used BSM drivers in Brighton and Nottingham (I am a student!) and can recommend them both.

My lessons were with BSM. I didn't think they were amazing or anything, but the guy was a perfectly adequate teacher. One thing to watch out for, I got to a point where I felt ready to put in for my test but he had still not mentioned anything.

I didn't want to come across as though I thought I knew better than him or anything, but eventually made myself ask about it. He kept putting it off saying I still needed to practice x and y.

I really felt more than capable and ready for the test, so I put in for it myself and passed first time with only 1 minor fault. So please just be aware, if you really feel you are ready then don't get put off getting a test booked by your instructor! It did feel as though he was trying to get more lessons out of me in the end :o
