These customer retention products don't involve credit or income checks. If you want one, ask them and they'll change your deal straight away with little paperwork. I imagine a fee will be added to your account and that's pretty much all there is to it.I am a mortgage broker. I went self-employed and then came to the end of my deal with Santander (wish I hadn't gone self-employed as didn't think about my deal coming to an end) so I was stuck really as I had to really stay with Santander as any new provider wouldn't have wanted me due to my not having x amount of years books to show. So with Santander now, but on a fixed rate which is nowhere near as good as what I was on before (tracker)...still it balances it out in the end...0
