Help with benifits ?

Hello all,

Just a quick question that I think I know the answer to but just want this confirmed please.

Will both be retired in March on Full state pensions and both also have a small state pension. I know we will not be elegible for most benefits as we are also over the limit for savings.

But is there anything we would be entitled to, just asking as obviously nobody is going to tell you.

    this is the pensions forum.

there is a benefits forum that can help you. I do know that some non means tested bneefits such as WFA will be automatic as you are pensioners.

We both have state pensions, OH 100%, me 60%. Small private pensions, amounting the about around £220 a month, some savings and we cant claim any benefits, we manage fine and even manage to save for holidays etc. So quite happy to fend for ourselves.

Thanks Atush, what is WFA please?
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

  • Use this benefit checker to see if you are entitled to anything.

It's always worth checking even if you think you aren't entitled.

Thank's for your replies, just what I expected I know we will manage as we are not big spenders. But was curious if there was anything else we could claim for. Never claimed in our working life.
  • Not sure how old you are but as you have savings you MAY qualify for the Savings element of Pension Credit. I guess you wont get Guarantee part of PC because of your occupational pensions though.
