Still waiting to be paid!! Chased work again and their reply is now that they sent me a cheque over a week ago. I personally don't believe them as I haven't received anything but why would they not just reply this straight away when I first contacted them?
Also, why are they paying me by cheque? Can they do this???
My wages are already a week and a half late and if a cheque does turn up that's another week to wait for it to clear! :mad:0 -
If they have not responded to your letter, you can make an unlawful deduction of wages claim, ACAS should be able to help you with this. If I were you I'd send another letter telling them this is your intention if problem is not resolved by x date, then if money still not received you will need to raise the claim, I'm sure once they see some official documentation land on the mat they may buck up.0

Thanks, I suppose they could argue they have responded now though given the email I got off them today saying they posted a cheque. Things don't match up with what they are saying though and the dates so don't believe its been sent at all.
Thank you for your advice though, am going to contact ACAS and see what they say.

Its part of the employent act.

section 88/89 depending on how you are paid.
When in notice period the employer is required to pay full normal pay, even if on sick or maternity at reduced pay.
As I understand it as you resigned they don't have to pay it during the notice period but at the end topping up any monies allready paid.0
