Is this vacuum worth buying?

I need a new 'Hoover' and this seems like reasonable value for money, I must add that it won't be getting excessive use!

It looks like a good buy to me, anything is better than the colourful over priced, over-hyped alternative junk.. ;)

I would go for this Bissell lift off instead, I got mine 1 month ago & so far so good:

£50 inc free p&p for a refurbished model from Bissell with 1 year warranty. The 30m long power cord is really great. You have no idea how handy it is to hoover several rooms without needing to unplug until you actually get a vacuum which can do it. It does hard floors & carpets:

You would recommend one of these refurbished ones then? I did fancy this model, but didn't like the new price!!!

I'm in need of a new vacuum cleaner after my Dyson died!!!!

    Many thanks in advance.

Yes, it has very good suction. I'd say the biggest problem is as tinman said, the hose is far too short (about 0.5m!) so when you are using the hand tools, the vacuum tips over so when I am using the crevice for corners, I have to hold it.

If your budget is £50 then I would say this is one of the better ones to buy.

Stay well away from Electrolux, their customer service is appauling. The belt on mine kept snapping (design defect caused by the brush bar stretching the belt too much when vacuuming short pile carpets) & every month I was paying £5 for new belts. I contacted Electrolux who weren't insterested & said belts aren't covered by warranty.

I bought this Vax model from Asda last week - http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4060462.htm for £75. It's heavy but has brilliant suction power and great for pet hairs.
So little money - so much time
