Went to have a look in the lincoln branch last saturday and found the place in darkness with doors locked, but all stock still on display.I know the chain is in admin, but what will happen to the stock?
A shame really, the store improved when they took over MVC,with better stock and prices than the HMV up the road

All stores have been purchased by Fopp. Some are opening as Fopps, but the decent and expensive sites (ie most of them) are still closed.
HMV are great by the way, Lincoln is an ace store - but then I am biased (I don't work at Lincoln incidentally !)0 -
the Liverpool and Birkenhead Music Zones have reopened this week as Music Zones.0

fopp have purchased 60 music zones sites.the ones that have reopened are trading as fopp, though no signage has changed, they are selling the old music zone stock, then they will close then reopen as fopp.from what i hear they are also keeping most music zone staff.0

I noticed that with the Lincoln branch as well.
Thought that as there was no lights they had cut off the Leccy. Alarm was still on. Gotta dash. Back to me cell

Its funny how a company is going into administration, you would think they would massively reduce the stock but when I went past a music zone, everything was just as expensive as normal
i.e. Casino Royale DVD was £12.99 now £11.50.
They wont be getting any of my dosh with disgusting sales like that.Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"0 -
Not necessarily jinkssick, it depends whether the administators are hoping to sell it as a going concern (which has happened here) or whether they just want to make some quick money to pay off the company's debts before shutting the business down.0

Lol, Jinksick, Casino Royale has never been that price, and if it was, it was merely a mis-stickered price, when MZ closed it was £5.97, and only a month before that was one of those spend over £10 and get it for £3.97 titles that they ask you about at the counter..... Take it from someone who works at one of these "disgustingly priced" stores...
So its clear, and cause i want to help out my fellow former MVC and MZ dudes, of the 72 surviving MZ's Fopp bought 67. I dont know when they plan to refit them, all i know is that they are going to refit them, im thinking its once the dvd has been sold off, but i honestly dont know. Its still too early and at store level we've heard little about it, not that we mind, Fopp are paying us well and are giving us much incentive to keep on working.
So no complaints from me!0 -
My husband worked in Music Zone Newcastle store, which was taken over by Fopp, he went in to work today to be told the store is closing. He and the other members of staff are emptying the store now. They have been told they will try to re-locate as many staff as possible.Bit of a kick in the teeth for them though..........................0
