Cheapest place to buy pistachio kernals?

Options
They are ones without the shells. My friend does a lot of cooking and making loads of brownies with pistachios in them. The reason that she wants them without the shells as they would take forever to shell them.

  • Does she have a Turkish supermarket (or similar) nearby? May be worth a look in there. Otherwise, Mr T seem to have the cheapest shelled pistachios out of the supermarkets, still a fiver for a 300g bag though. I don't know Aldi/Lidl prices though as there's not one nearby, someone else may have an idea.

I tend to only use pistachios for special occasion baking, so expensive!

Bumping this thread - the cheapest I have found locally is £5.29 for 250g (wasn't prepared to buy at this price!). Am hanging out for a cheaper price if anyone can update?

Mr T are £4.20 for 250g right now so a pound cheaper than you've seen. You best bet would be to find a local world food supermarket. The ones in Mr T work out at £16.80/kg to give you a guide price.
