HSBC debt and PPI

Hi Moneysavers!
We have been with Payplan for almost 5 years now and it has come to note that one of the big loans we have was with HSBC and we could be due some money back for missold PPI
BUT I have written to HSBC and they say that they can find no record of the account
Admittedly it has been bought by another company now as most debts are BUT i still need to be able to write to HSBC to get the complaint up and running?
PayPlan have given me the account number and sort code that they took over for us but HSBC are being really difficult:mad:
Any Advice would be so appreciated...

When you say you have written to HSBC - have you done a fill subject access request under the data protection act (and enclosed the £10)?
Do you not still have your original paperwork from HSBC that you can check to see whether you think you may have a claim?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
