in Cutting tax
Hi all..
I have almost completed my self assessment for rental property and need help if possible..
rental income is a loss for 2010-11 as major refurb and no tenant..
its my employed salary that is stating tax underpaid!..
1st employment till 11/07/10 but p45 and HMRC records show 30/07/10 total £6337.00, tax paid £819.00
2nd employment started 12/07/10.. total £11989.17, tax paid £1102.00
1st emplyment student loan deductions £340
2nd employment student loan deductions £162
2nd employment pension deductions £284.57 and NI 878.85
when i add up net salary from 2nd employment £9846.32 it differs from p60
can i minus the NI from p60 figures?
is the HMRC calculations correct, i owe £449.15?
thanks in advance for any help!

It is better to regret something you have done than something you haven't.....

for some reason your second job didn't have the cumulative gross and tax paid carried over from the first job; maybe because you didn't hand in the P45
so you were given a full 12 months tax allowance against your second job rather than only 9
so yes you owe about 449 in tax0
