Apparently with this government even if you are stone cold Dead, you could still work.:A
DMG 1313..... if claimant has no pulse and is clinically dead ask ATOS for a second opinion they will FIND a Pulse, the death must be a relevant death and not short term, if for any reason the body moves this can be deemed as activeness and will not be covered under the (DDA) death discrimination act. incentives are available for employees taking on dead people, paperweights and door stops are two of the leading jobs for the dead. remind the dead claimant that contributing is important and everyone has a part to play, just because your dead does not mean you can not continue to contribute.

Unless you are the OP's consultant or GP you have no idea what they are capable of doing and what they aren't. My BiL broke his heel last year and spent 8 weeks in plaster, forbidden to put any weight on it at all, followed by 6 weeks in a boot allowed to start to use it but only for very short distances. He couldn't drive and was unable to use public transport. Luckily he is retired but if he had been working he would have been off for the entire time. Other people with a leg in plaster might well have been able to work much sooner, it's very much dependant on the diagnosis and it's not your place to make judgements without the facts.
I don't think he was to be fair. He was looking at it from an employers point of view. Why would an employer take on someone with a broken arm who could need time off for hospital appointments when he could take someone who is medically fit.
And my sympathies go to your BIL cos I know my daughter is on week 13 of having a spiral fracture of the distal fibular and has to wait another 5 weeks for another x ray in the hope that it has healed. 4 weeks of non weight bearing with mobile joints isn't easy!!! She's now in one of the air moon boot things. One of those breaks that was borderline for surgery, and would probably have healed better if she did have surgery. We're keeping our fingers crossed that in 5 weeks time she doesn't either need to go back into plaster or have surgery
Without a doubt they will advise you at the job centre. Please keep us informed.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Hiya. Hope your arm gets better soon firstly and that your not in too much pain.
Secondly, I would agree with the poster who said about you are still possibly able to look for work, but when getting down to the interveiw it might get trickier.
I would also agree with the person (might be same poster sorry) who believes employers would respect a person for still trying and their determination.
ALot of roles in retail require a fair bit of training, watching dvds, health and saftey etc. This of course would not take 6-8 weeks to complete but might give a buffer should you find a job towards the end of your healing time.
I would talk to your doctor and you JC representative, and be honest that ou do definatly still want to look and find a job but obviously are concerned. I am sure you are not a benefit bum (I mean this in no disresppect to ANYONE on this board, only to the persons I know that have no inclination to find a job) and as such direct honesty about situations has always worked for me in such circumstances
take care!I Love My Library....when I finish/don't like a book, no one gets upset when I return it!Starting 2107lbs this month = 5.5Total loss = 5.5Too many UFOs to count:EasterBun0 -
As soon as you go to sign on again , they will change your status from JSA to another, which I cannot remeber what it is called. But you will still get your benefits untill you are able to work again.0
